About
Music that heals

Our founder
Project Simple Shelter (PSS) was founded by Joshua Bradford, a two-time Grammy-nominated musician, writer, editor, film scorer and filmmaker. He started it with a simple belief: music has the power to heal, connect and inspire hope.
Our mission
We bring music to underserved communities, where creative outlets are often hard to find. In free PSS workshops, Joshua introduces children and young adults to musical instruments and guides them as they write and create an original song together.
Each project ends with a professionally edited music video of the participants writing and performing their song. Then the group gathers to watch it, and sees themselves succeed, shine and share their voices with the world.
More than a song
PSS is about building the confidence to use music as a lifelong tool for self-expression, healing and empowerment.
Who we are
Project Simple Shelter is a project of PulseWorks Foundation, a Canadian federal non-profit, alongside its sister project W.I.L.
